NEW YORK (PIX11) – Could New York City become a winter wonderland on Friday?

A special weather statement is in effect for parts of the Big Apple, including the Bronx and Queens, due to the rain/snow mix. The wet weather is expected to make the roads messy ahead of the Friday evening commute, according to PIX11 meteorologists.

And, unfortunately, you're probably not going to be able to build a snowman.

New York City is expected to get less than an inch of snow accumulation, according to the National Weather Service. Long Island will get even less than that.

Some locations north and west of New York City could possibly get over an inch of snow, per the National Weather Service.

Temperatures are also expected to plummet by Saturday, with temperatures only reaching the 20s and 30s.
