Orissa HC on Monday annulled the election of

Congress

'

Mohammed Moquim

from

Barabati-Cuttack assembly seat

in April 2019 for failing to declare 13 criminal cases pending against him in his nomination papers. "The returning officer should have rejected the nomination (of Mohammed Moquim) at the time of scrutiny (itself)," said Justice Sangam Kumar Sahoo. The court's verdict came in response to a petition filed by BJD candidate Debashis Samantaray.
