Parag Agrawal

, who was the CEO of X (formerly Twitter), became the first casualty when Elon Musk took over the charge of the company in 2022. Since then, the information on Agrawal’s next venture was scarce. Now, a report has said that he has a startup that is building software for developers working on large

language models

(LLMs).
LLMs are the underlying technology that powers the AI

chatbots

that we have started to use in our lives. As per a report by The Information, Agrawal recently raised $30 million for an

AI

startup. Citing two people familiar with the matter, the report said that the investment has been made by Khosla Ventures, who is also an early backer of

OpenAI

– the company that developed ChatGPT.
Riding the AI wave
Reports have said that AI will dominate the year 2024 and it is seen as the next breakthrough technology in the industry. Agrawal seems to be going with the wind.

“Agrawal’s startup is building software for developers of large language models, which were popularized by OpenAI’s ChatGPT, and customers of those LLMs,” the report said.
However, the specifics of the product and the startup’s name couldn’t be learned. Additionally, one of the person told the publication that two other well-known venture firms, Index Ventures and First Round Capital, also participated in the deal.

Agrawal was the CEO of the company from 2021 to 2022. He joined Twitter in 2011 and moved up to the ranks in his 10-year stint at the company.
Agrawal was also the chief technology officer (CTO) at the social media company, where he reportedly helped the company with its technical strategy and advancements in AI and machine learning implementations.
He was appointed as CEO after Jack Dorsey, the founder and then-CEO of the company, stepped down in November 2021.
