have issued a warning for heat wave in six

districts

of the state in the next 24 hours. The districts likely to face heat waves are Ratlam, Sagar, Tikamgarh,

Damoh

, Guna and Shivpuri.
Likewise, the Met department has issued also warnings of warm nights for seven districts— Ratlam, Satna, Tikamgarh, Damoh, Narmadapuram, Guna and Betul.

Met officials have also said that weather could cause moderate discomfort in Satna, Maihar, Damoh, Sagar, Tikamgarh, Datia, Bhind and Niwari districts of state.

Heat wave warning for six districts; Damoh hottest

IMD has forecast that moderate thunderstorm with lightning or hail (wind speed up 45 kmph) is likely to occur in Sehore, Bhind, Datia, Ratangarh, Niwari, Orchha, Jabalpur, Chhatarpur, Khajuraho and Damoh districts and while light thunderstorms with lightning are likely to occur over Bhopal, Barwani, Dhar, Shajapur, Khandwa, Khargone, Dewas, Indore, Raisen, Vidisha, Betul, Chhindwara, Tikamgarh, East Shivpuri, Neemuch, Narmadapuram, Harda, Sagar, Katni, Panna, Satna, Maihar, Narsingpur, Mandla, Umaria and Mandsaur districts in evening or night hours”.

In past 24 hours, state recorded a maximum temperature of 42.5 degrees Celsius at Damoh district, while minimum temperature of 18.9 degree Celsius was recorded at Dhar district.
Bhopal witnessed strong winds on Friday evening. The entire day remained cloudy, bringing some respite from temperature that had breached the 40 degrees Celsius mark on Thursday. Mercury dropped by more than 1 degree as compared to the other day. On Thursday, city recorded a minimum temperature of 23.8 degrees Celsius, which was 3.9 degrees above the normal. In the next 24 hours, Met officials say that there could be a minor jump in maximum temperature and it could stay at 40 degree Celsius mark. The minimum temperature could also be 24 degree Celsius.
