LONG ISLAND, N.Y. (PIX11) -- Residents are being advised against bathing at more than a dozen beaches on Long Island on Saturday.
The Nassau County Department of Health is issuing an advisory against bathing at 18 beaches beginning Saturday and ending on Sunday at 7 a.m.
The advisory comes due to recent heavy rainfall that could cause stormwater runoff in the area. Runoff has the possibility of raising bacteria levels and possibly impacting water quality.
The following beaches on Long Island will be closed on Saturday.

- Laurel Hollow Beach – Laurel Hollow
- Morgan Sound – Glen Cove
- North Hempstead Beach Park – Port Washington
- Piping Rock Beach Club – Locust Valley
- Pryibil Beach – Glen Cove
- Ransom Beach – Bayville
- Theodore Roosevelt Beach – Oyster Bay
- Sea Cliff Village Beach – Sea Cliff
- Soundside Beach – Bayville
- Stehli Beach – Bayville
- Tappen Beach – Glenwood Landing
- Biltmore Beach Club – Massapequa
