NEW DELHI:
Mayank Yadav
became an overnight sensation with his scorching pace and match-winning spell, clinching figures of 3/27 for Lucknow Super Giants in their
IPL 2024
match against Punjab Kings on Saturday.
Mayank's blistering pace saw him unleash the fastest ball of the season on his IPL debut, clocking at 155.8 km/hr while bowling to Punjab skipper Shikhar Dhawan.

It has been seen in the past that young players rose to early fame but their success diminished too soon as they seemed to have got carried away after initial achievements.
Contrary to this trend, it seems that Mayank is an exception, as his childhood coach from Sonnet Club
Devendra Sharma
expressed that his protege is deeply committed to his game.
"He has more arsenal in his kitty, hawabaz nahi hai, he is serious about his game," Devendra told IANS.
Mayank also had his fair share of struggles while transforming from a frail 15-year-old to a frighteningly quick fast bowler.
His father Prabhu Yadav was always determined to embrace the struggles usually associated with the middle class, in order to see Mayank excel on the cricket field.
Life has changed overnight for the Yadav family from West Delhi's Punjabi Bagh with the 24 deliveries that their 21-year-old son bowled for Lucknow Super Giants.
"If Ustaadji and Devender bhai had not been around, my son wouldn't have come this far. I wanted him to play cricket but they prepared him for all the big tests," Prabhu couldn't thank the late Tarak Sinha (Ustaadji) and current head coach (Sharma) of the famous Sonnet Club enough for their contribution in his son's development.
