After a recent incident at an event, Bollywood director

Hansal Mehta

has slammed Telugu star

Nandamuri Balakrishna

, branding him a'scumbag'.

Balakrishna

had attended a pre-release event for Anjali's upcoming film, 'Gangs of Godavari'. A video from the event, now viral, captured Balakrishna pushing Anjali aside on stage after she couldn't hear him.
Hansal asked, "Who is this scumbag?" while sharing the video of the incident.

A social media user defended Balakrishna, stating, "They both have acted together before, so they have that bonding. Regardless of his age, he had a friendly vibe with his co-stars. He's the biggest star of the Telugu film industry, the son of the great SR NTR, and the uncle of JR NTR. So, before calling him names and using such words, think twice and consider before tweeting about someone's life who is a star himself, and people around him know."
The action was condemned by numerous other social media users as well. One user wrote, "It's crazy how so many people give him a free pass by saying sht like 'it's just balayya.'" Another user commented, "A talented actress treated like sh*t."
The incident took place earlier this week as Nandamuri Balakrishna joined Anjali and her co-stars Vishwak Sen and

Neha Shetty

from 'Gangs of Godavari' on stage. Balakrishna's action of pushing Anjali aside left Neha visibly shocked. Yet, Anjali seemed to brush off the moment with a laugh, taking his gesture in stride. However, it remains unclear what the veteran actor said to Anjali before nudging her aside onstage.

On the professional front, Balakrishna is currently in the spotlight for his recent hits like 'Akhanda' and 'Veerasimha Reddy', and he's reportedly planning to collaborate with director

Boyapati Srinu

for 'Akhanda 2'. Meanwhile, Hansal Mehta has been busy with his international project, 'Gandhi'.
