NEW DELHI: Las Vegas was treated to a musical spectacle on Sunday as power couple
Gwen Stefani
and
Blake Shelton
took the stage during the
Super Bowl LVIII
TikTok Tailgate event, delivering the live debut of their new duet, "
Purple Irises
."
The No Doubt rocker, Stefani, 54, and country star Shelton, 47, captivated the audience with their heartfelt performance, showcasing their musical chemistry.
Shelton, armed with his guitar, joined Stefani on stage, creating a memorable moment for fans at the tailgate event.
Stefani embraced a Wild West-inspired look, donning a black and white ensemble complete with light pink satin open chaps, while Shelton kept it simple in a black monochromatic outfit. The musical duo serenaded the crowd with "Purple Irises," a lovelorn track released just two days prior to the event.
The song's poignant lyrics reflect on their relationship, with Stefani singing, "But if someone comes along and tries to / Love you like I do / Don't know what I'd do / Don't want to lose you," and later expressing, "No, I never knew a love like this. Now we're picking / Purple irises."
Stefani and Shelton, known for their successful collaborations in the past, have previously released chart-topping country hits, including "Nobody But You" and "Happy Anywhere." Their holiday track "You Make It Feel Like Christmas" also gained popularity in 2017.
The Super Bowl LVIII TikTok Tailgate event wasn't limited to their new duet; Stefani took the opportunity to engage the audience with some of her classic hits. The Grammy winner delighted the crowd with performances of "I'm Just a Girl" and "Hollaback Girl," creating an electric atmosphere at the event.
This musical collaboration is another milestone in Stefani and Shelton's relationship, which Stefani fondly described to PEOPLE last year, saying, "He's changed my life... when I [started dating] Blake, that's when I felt home, like, 'Oh, this is where I'm supposed to be, with this guy.'"
Apart from their joint endeavors, Stefani has exciting plans of her own this spring. She is set to reunite with her band No Doubt at Coachella, marking a special moment for both the artist and their devoted fans.
"It just happened so fast, and that's my favorite kind of thing to happen. We haven't really figured out the next steps of how we're going to do this, but we're just all so excited," Stefani revealed to PEOPLE last month. "And I think really just watching the internet blow up [with] how excited that the fans are? It's inspiring us."
