Google, Gmail, Google Maps, YouTube and other company's services go down

Multiple Google services face a global outage, with users reporting issues accessing Search, Maps, YouTube, News, and Gmail. DownDetector received numerous reports since 6:00pm, with most complaints about the News app. TOI Tech and users on X also experienced issues with Google services. Google's official Status website does not acknowledge the ongoing outage. The exact reason remains unknown.

services across the world appear to be down. Users have reported facing issues while accessing Google Services including Google Search, Google Maps, YouTube, Google News, Gmail and more.
Google services may be down globally
According to DownDetector, the crowd-sourced outage detection platform, users are facing issues with a host of Google services including Gmail, Search, Maps and more since 6:00pm today.

The website has received over a thousand reports from users.
Around 66% people reported facing issues with the Google Website, 21% reported issues with the Search and the remaining 3% reported that they are unable to access Maps.

TOI Tech also tried accessing Google Search, Maps, News, and other and we were also facing issues with News and Search. However, Maps and Gmail are working fine at the time of writing the article.
Users also took X (formerly Twitter) to report about the outage. A user named, Dr Iain Overton
@iainoverton posted, “Either google news is down, or defence cuts really are a thing”.
“never thought I’d say this but is

GOOGLE down

for anyone else?? it’s making it impossible or for me to search for news”, wrote another user on X.



What caused the outage
Google has not yet acknowledged the ongoing outage. We checked Google’s official Status website and according to that, all the Google services are running without any issues. As of now, we don't know the exact reason behind the ongoing outage.
