KOCHI: After failing to gain promotion to the

Indian Super League

from the

I-League

for the second consecutive season,

Gokulam Kerala

has parted ways with their head coach,

Domingo Oramas

. The club president, VC Praveen, confirmed the development, stating that the decision was mutual.
Out of the last five games, Gokulam has won only one match, which worsened the scenario for the coach.

Sources close to the team management indicated that, more than the results, the management was unhappy with the team’s playing style.
Along with Oramas, Christian Rodriguez, the team’s fitness coach, has also been ousted. Gokulam’s assistant coach, Shareef Khan, will be in charge of the side for the remaining two games.
Before the season began, Gokulam had invested a lot of money into the side with the sole aim of qualifying for the ISL. However, the team is currently in fifth spot in the I-League points table, with 36 points from 22 matches, and is already out of the title race. Gokulam will take on Neroca FC on Sunday and TRAU FC on April 12.
