NEW DELHI:
Former union minister
Birender Singh and ex-BJP MLA Prem Lata on Tuesday joined the
Congress
party a day after leaving the BJP. On Monday, Singh and his wife left the saffron party, citing differences in 'ideologies'. The event was attended by Ajay Maken, Mukul Wasnik, Pawan Khera, and senior leaders from Haryana. Singh and his wife joined the grand old party nearly a month after their son, Brijendra Singh, became a member of the Congress. Singh had been with the BJP for more than ten years, having previously spent over four decades with the Congress.
