Sagar Parekh
has been a heartthrob and household name since his two major stints
Anupamaa
and
Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11
. In a candid conversation with ETimes TV, the
actor
opened up about his views on doing Bigg Boss at this stage of his career, finding
quality work
and more. Here's what Sagar had to say:
Sagar on doing Bigg Boss if offered
Why shouldn't I do Bigg Boss? I watched last year’s season.
I’m not prepared for it. It’s not going to kill you… takes a toll on
mental health
but I’m sorted for it but I will get to know once I get there and stay for a month but I have stayed in a
boarding school
since I was a child but it might not be a task to stay locked in a room or it might not be a task to stay away from the world. It is difficult to play the mind games though. It will be a chance to test myself. It is a platform which gives a lot of benefits. Ab toh Bigg Boss ke ghar mein lock hoke hi pata chalega. Whether I can stay or not for a month or more.
One has to look out for another show
Even if you are very talented, after one show you have to look for another one. For example, in the
film industry
if one movie goes flop then the next one doesn’t need to be a hit movie. These platforms give a boost and open up a few options for other shows. Negative and positive both are good for learning that the audience knows if you are right or wrong.
Sagar Parekh: I was offered quite a few Gujarati films but I can't speak it fluently
Pressure on doing the best
Definitely, I saw the pressure. Two years back, I didn't believe in it but after doing Anupamaa, I have realised that I want to keep proving myself as I grow with my career. There is this pressure of giving a hit show as the lead character of the show. Earlier, I used to think that work is work but now the quality matters. Now, after receiving many offers, I look out for quality characters. The graph as an actor needs to keep growing after that. As post doing the best show, I wouldn't want to settle for less.
