Exclusive- Prem Sagar shares details about the upcoming revamp of the epic saga Ramayan

reveals when do they plan to announce the new show, where would it stream and more.
When do you plan to announce it properly?
Our team is working day and night to find the right Ram. We will announce it as soon as we find one. It's like finding a needle in a haystack. I'm open to a new Ram. I'm open to somebody who's never acted as a Ram. But I must get Ram which is in my mind. Ram is a Vishnu avatar who doesn't show anywhere that I am God.
Are you going to direct it?

I'll be fully hands-on with it, but there'll be episodic directors and things like that.
Anyone from the original Ramayan in terms of technicians left.
Yeah, there will be spillovers of some characters.
But it's going to be a huge challenge because people are bound to compare it.
See, I have never troubled about it. I think this is Bhagya and I am only a medium. If the Bhagya is being given to me to become the madhyam for bringing Ram as Vishnu without saying, then some power has to give me our Kuljan devjan Gurujan. They are sending emails to me. At night, suddenly I get an idea. I write it. From where did that idea come? Because some Kurijan, Devjan Gurujan put that idea. Get a pen and write it down before you lose the line. The mukhda is Ram aayenge, leela Ram ki sunayenge, Ram aayenge.

Where will it be aired?
Doordarshan has been locked [as the platform to air]. The satellite channel will accept a Ram of a different kind. But in Doordarshan, the challenge is greater because they only accept whom they see as God. My cook, home servant touched Ram’s feet. Searching for a Ram for the Doordarshan audience is the biggest challenge.
