TIRUPATI: Former
Telugu Desam party
minister Ponguru Narayana predicted that there would be more
exodus
of
MLAs
,
MPs
and other elected representatives from the
YSRCP
just ahead of the ensuing general elections.
Speaking to reporters after fellow Nellorean Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy resigned from his Rajya sabha membership as well as from the YSRCP party membership, the ex-TDP minister said that there is scant respect for MLAs and MPs in the ruling party unlike other political parties which follow certain democratic principles of hierarchy.
"The YSRCP leadership probably thinks that everyone enters politics to make money which is not true. There are many like Vemireddy and others who enter politics to do public service by holding a respectable position", Narayana underlined.
The ex-TDP minister added that Vemireddy's exit was just the begining and that more and more leaders would desert the ruling party to save themselves from the sinking ship just before the elections.
Meanwhile, Nellore rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy who recently shifted over to the TDP, met Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy at the latter's residence and extended solidarity to his decision on Wednesday.
