Driver accused of killing motorcyclist out of road rage on Long Island

NORTH HILLS, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A 64-year-old man is facing murder charges after allegedly killing a motorcyclist in a fit of road rage, Nassau County police say.

According to authorities, the 64-year-old was driving a pickup truck on the South Service Road of the Long Island Expressway on Friday around 2 p.m. when he got into an altercation with a motorcyclist.

During the altercation, the pickup truck driver swerved into the 29-year-old motorcyclist and pinned him against a guardrail, officials say.

The motorcycle driver suffered from severe injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene, according to police.

The 64-year-old was charged with second degree murder and is expected to be arraigned in court on Saturday.
