The Golden State Warriors had a great start to the second round of the playoffs on Tuesday night as they were able to steal Game 1 on the road against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Golden State was able to take advantage of a poor shooting night by Minnesota along with a great defensive game by their own squad.
The Warriors’ defensive effort allowed them to grab the 99-88 victory as they were able to grab a 1-0 lead in the series.
Of course, the Warriors were without their superstar point guard Stephen Curry for most of the game after he exited early in the second quarter due to a left hamstring strain.
With Curry out, the Warriors saw Draymond Green, Jimmy Butler and Buddy Hield step up in his absence to lead Golden State to a crucial victory.
After the game, Green credited Butler and Hield for them stepping up with Curry sidelined as he compared them to Batman and Robin.
“Robin' turned into 'Batman'... 'Alfred' turned into 'Robin,” Green said about Butler and Hield stepping up with Curry sidelined in Game 1.

Of course, Butler deemed himself as Robin as Curry was Batman on the team but it was Butler who took over as the hero of Game 1 with his incredible performance.
The veteran forward led the way for Golden State with 20 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists.
Hield also stepped up huge for the Warriors with Curry sidelined as he recorded 24 points and eight rebounds while knocking down five three-pointers.
Green also played a key role with 18 points, eight rebounds and six assists but he instead credited Butler and Hield for the victory.
After Green’s comments, Butler and Hield were asked about it where Hield jokingly told the media that he was Batman on Tuesday night and Butler remained Robin.

Either way, both players stepped up huge down the stretch for the Warriors with Curry out due to injury and they will now look to take a commanding 2-0 lead on Thursday night in Game 2.
