, one of Bollywood's most diverse and famous actors, has delivered many memorable performances. He has appeared in over 200 films and won many awards during his long career. Born on May 30, he married actress

Swaroop Sampat

, the love of his life.
Today as the ace actor celebrates his birthday, let's explore the star’s

love story

and how he went from courting his wife to finally proposing to her.

At an old

interview

with his wife, Swaroop Sampat, in The Free Press Journal, where she shared some stories from their dating life. When asked who is more possessive, the actress said, “Even during our

courtship

days, Paresh was the possessive one. He would not like it if I paid attention to anyone else. But now, after many years of knowing each other, he is relatively chilled out.”
She added that Paresh was clear about wanting to marry her from the beginning. “He said we would only get into the relationship if I had plans to eventually marry him,” she stated.

In the same interview, the actress mentioned she had just finished school and was handing out brochures at an Indian National Theatre festival. Her dad was the chief producer there. At the same event, Paresh and his college friend were performing in a play. This was when Paresh saw Swaroop and told his friends that he was going to marry her one day.
Everyone thought he was crazy and didn't take him seriously. Swaroop Sampat mentioned that Paresh was shy and would only watch her from a distance at the theatre. However, a year later, she saw him perform at an inter-college competition and was impressed by his skills.

At that moment, she decided to talk to him, even though others were scared of him because his character in the play was aggressive. When she met Rawal, Sampat told him that she couldn’t believe anyone could be so talented.
She added,“I started talking to him. One day, he asked me out for a movie, then told me that he wanted to marry me. He insisted on a commitment and I said ‘yes’ while thinking baad mein dekha jayega (we’ll see later). We started working in the theatre together and I realized we were like-minded despite belonging to different backgrounds. My outlook was more westernized,”
On the work front, His next movie is 'Welcome To The Jungle,' and he's getting ready to film his upcoming project called 'The Taj Story.'
