NEW DELHI: The short-handed

Philadelphia 76ers

are poised to bolster their lineup by signing power forward

Darius Bazley

to a 10-day contract, as reported by multiple sources on Monday.
Bazley, currently playing for the Philadelphia

G League

affiliate, the

Delaware Blue Coats

, has been delivering strong performances in the developmental league.

At 23 years old, Bazley has been a standout for the Blue Coats, averaging an impressive 20.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.5 blocks in 18 games.

Originally selected by the

Utah Jazz

as the 23rd overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, Bazley's journey led him to the Memphis Grizzlies and then the Oklahoma City Thunder on the same day.

Over his NBA career, Bazley has participated in 228 games, making 118 starts, during parts of four seasons with the Thunder (2019-23) and the Phoenix Suns (2023). He holds an average of 9.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest.
The decision to bring in Bazley comes as the 76ers are grappling with injuries to key starters, including Joel Embiid (knee),

Tobias Harris

(hip), and Nicolas Batum (hamstring). Bazley's versatility and skills on both ends of the court are expected to provide valuable support to the 76ers during this challenging period of injuries to key personnel.
