, who played Laura/X-23 in the 2017 film Logan, recently spoke with Comicbook.com about the possibility of reprising her role in the upcoming
Deadpool
&
Wolverine
movie. While she didn't confirm whether she'll appear alongside her
Logan
co-star Hugh Jackman, Keen expressed her gratitude for the lasting impact of her role.
"It's amazing to be part of something that has such a huge legacy," Keen said.
"Almost 10 years later, people still ask me about it, and that feels pretty huge."
There's been much speculation about which Marvel characters will make appearances in Deadpool & Wolverine. Alongside Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, the film will feature familiar faces from previous Marvel movies. Aaron Stanford will return as Pyro, and Jennifer Garner will reprise her role as Elektra Natchios from Daredevil and her Elektra spinoff. Trailers have also hinted at cameos by Lady Deathstrike from X2 and Azazel from X-Men: First Class. The trailers show the Time Variance Authority (TVA) from Loki's series playing a significant role, with TVA agents apprehending Deadpool and introducing him to the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Since her breakthrough role in Logan, Dafne Keen has continued to take on significant roles. She starred in HBO's His Dark Materials and will appear in the upcoming Star Wars series The Acolyte as Jedi Padawan Jecki Lon. Keen described her Star Wars character as having a strong bond with her mentor, Master Sol, played by Lee Jung-jae. She contrasted this role with her portrayal of
X-23
, explaining that while Laura's goal was to kill, Jecki, as a Jedi, aims to avoid violence and protect herself and others.
With Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has started to include X-Men characters in its movies and shows. Notable cameos have included Charles Xavier and Beast in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and The Marvels, played by Patrick Stewart and Kelsey Grammer, respectively. Additionally, the MCU has revealed that Ms. Marvel's Kamala Khan is a mutant, a detail that has been integrated into the comics as well.
