worth Rs 13.3 lakhs using the card.
Police said the Salt Lake resident had lodged a complaint with Bidhannagar south police station about the fraud transaction last month.

“He had complained that on February 17, his cellphone had suddenly stopped working. He went to the telecom service provider’s store the next day and got a new SIM only to find that there were transactions of Rs 13.3 lakhs made from five of his credit cards,” said an officer of Bidhannagar City Police.
Probing into the case, cops traced the locations of transactions and the persons the complainant had met before the cell phone had stopped working and arrested Somnath Sarkar and his wife Ankita from Thakurpukur. Both of them are residents of Krishnanagar.
Police said the complainant had met them for some work when the couple had cloned the SIM card and copied the cards before making the transactions.
