RANCHI: A few hours after BJP's national in-charge for Jharkhand,

Laxmikant Bajpai

, took a potshot at the

INDIA alliance

by remarking that the upcoming Lok Sabha and assembly elections was a contest against "corrupt people",

JMM

on Tuesday claimed that BJP had guaranteed that corrupt politicians, who joined its fold, would get tickets to contest the elections.
Bajpai was in Ranchi on Tuesday to attend a meeting of BJP with its NDA allies to discuss the preparations for the scheduled polls.

JMM general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya said, "Anyone, who has been certified as corrupt by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, bags a ticket to fight the elections when he or she joins BJP. People accused by the CBI have won tickets in Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh. Ajit Pawar and Narayan Rane's people are also contesting polls."
Without taking names, Supriyo also accused the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) of not taking action against a former chief minister of Jharkhand who holds a constitutional post in Odisha at present.

"When the state govt became alert, the ED was pushed into Jharkhand. One person was given a constitutional post in Odisha so that he could be protected. The ED remained silent in a case where money trail was found, but another former CM, Hemant Soren, was arrested in a civil case," he claimed.
Reacting to BJP state president Babulal Marandi's support for Dhanbad candidate Dulu Mahato, Bhattacharya claimed, "Babulal brought Dulu into his party (JVM-P) and made him a MLA. Babulal gets multi-vitamin from Dulu." He, however, did not elaborate on the 'multi-vitamin' statement.
Bhattacharya attacked Modi after the latter was seen seated while President Droupadi Murmu handed over the Bharat Ratna to BJP veteran LK Advani on Monday. "The President was made to stand with her hands locked while the PM remained seated. It was an insult to the President, who is from the tribal community," he claimed.
