To mark its 35th anniversary, the hit blockbuster Telugu film 'Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari', starring Chiranjeevi and Sridevi, was re-released in theatres on May 9. Ahead of that, actor Chiranjeevi spoke about the film and also expressed his desire to see his son Ram Charan and actor Janhvi Kapoor in a potential sequel.

Earlier this week, Chiranjeevi sat down for an interview with Vyjayanthi Network, along with the producer of the film, Aswani Dutt, and its director, K Raghavandra Rao, where he discussed the film, late actor Sridevi, a possible sequel, among others.

Talking about his co-star Sridevi, the 69-year-old shared, "I miss Sridevi very much on this occasion. She was the heart of JVAS ('Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari'). Her character felt like a dream. It was the first time we worked together, and our chemistry was truly special."

When asked about the sequel to his film, Chiranjeevi shared his doubts. However, he claimed that if the director wants to work on it, he wants Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor to star in it.

He said, “Initially, I wasn’t in favour of a sequel. But today, I’d love to see Nag Ashwin direct it with Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor (as the leads). The story would be closely tied to the original - it could be a dream project for both actors."

The film also featured the late Amrish Puri in a villainous role, and was celebrated for its soundtrack composed by the legendary Ilayaraaja.

Meanwhile, the makers are gearing up to screen a newly remastered 3D version of 'Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari' from May 9.
