CHENNAI: Chief minister M K Stalin will inaugurate the new 150 MLD

desalination plant

on the outskirts of Chennai at 10am on Saturday, municipal administration minister KN Nehru said on Monday.
It is the third desalination plant in the city and the second in Nemmeli.
Constructed at Rs1,517 crore, the plant will benefit nine lakh residents of Velachery, Alandur, St Thomas Mount, Medavakkam, Kovilambakkam, Nanmangalam, Keelkattalai, Moovarasampettai, Sholinganallur, Ullagaram-Puzhudhivakkam, Madipakkam, Pallavaram and the OMR.

The CM will also inaugurate Greater Chennai Corporation’s green building and Kodungaiyur dumpyard biomining process.
