Digital payment methods like UPI have changed transactions in India, making it easy for individuals to send and receive money via smartphones. However, a recent incident involving a Chennai resident highlights the fact that not everyone trusts or accepts online payments, leading to inconveniences for some users.

A woman named Suvetha Gunasekaran booked an auto ride through an app and found herself in a tricky situation. She discovered that the auto driver did not accept UPI payments, contrary to her assumption that cashless payment was an option for online cab bookings. The driver had pasted a stern notice on his windshield stating "GPay not available. No stop for ATM withdrawal."

In response to this experience, she shared her story via an X post, expressing her disbelief in the caption, "It was nice knowing y'all."

The post has garnered over 233k views and tons of reactions. One X user also pointed out that he took a trip with the same auto driver and got quite the rude treatment.

Despite the growing popularity of digital payments across India, there are a significant number of vendors and auto drivers who don’t trust this facility fully. As a result, instances like this one continue to occur, causing inconveniences for those who rely on cashless transactions.
