NEW DELHI:

CBI

has approached the Lok Sabha secretariat to get the Ethics Committee report which had recommended expulsion of

Trinamool Congress

member

Mahua Moitra

on 'cash-for-query' charges.
The agency, which is probing the matter on the basis of a complaint sent by the Lokpal, has sought the report as it contains the statements of complainant Jai Anant Dehadrai and Moitra among others, sources said.

CBI is likely to study the report while separately following a possible money trail, sources said.
The report has mentions of gifts and other items allegedly received by the expelled MP from businessman Darshan Hiranandani.

Officials in the Lok Sabha secretariat said they were yet to provide the report to CBI. "CBI has written to the secretariat seeking a copy of the Ethics Committee report. We will look into it. We have not made a decision regarding the request yet," an official said.
