CHENNAI: The
CB-CID police
have moved the
Madras high court
challenging the
acquittal
of
YouTuber Savukku Shankar
from a 2008 case against him for stealing electronic data from the office of DVAC.
Admitting the appeal on Thursday, Justice M Dhandapani directed Shankar to respond in four weeks. According to the prosecution, Shankar while working in DVAC stole digital data, transferred office documents and released telephonic conversations between then DVAC director SK Upadhyay and chief secretary LK Tripathy.
In 2017, he was acquitted from the case due to lack of evidence.
