A Calicut-bound IndiGo flight was instructed by the Air Traffic Controller (ATC) to abort taking off from Delhi over safety concerns. According to the airline, the ATC instruction was due to a "go-around by another aircraft on the parallel runway".
IndiGo flight 6E5913 was originally scheduled to takeoff from Delhi at 7.10 pm on Wednesday. But as a result of the incident, the flight departed the national capital at 11.03 pm.
In a statement confirming the development, the airline said the flight was "aborted upon instructions from the ATC due to a go-around by another aircraft on the parallel runway".
"The IndiGo aircraft returned to the terminal, where our team promptly assisted in transferring passengers to alternative aircraft to minimise delay. We apologise for any inconvenience experienced by our passengers," it added.
Meanwhile, the other aircraft referred to in IndiGo's statement was supposedly an Air India flight.
A response from Air India is awaited.
