Bomb threat: 2 Delhi University colleges receive bomb threats, police at spot

NEW DELHI: Two Delhi University colleges on Thursday received bomb threats which later turned out to be bogus.
According to the

Delhi Fire Service

, calls were received regarding bomb threats at Lady Shri Ram College and

Sri Venkateswara College

. Fire tenders and Delhi police at the

spot

.
Later the Delhi Police claimed that the calls were bogus and there is no need to worry.
"Some calls were received regarding bomb threats in colleges. All are bogus calls. No need to worry," the Delhi Police said.

This comes a day after, a bomb threat sent alarm bells ringing in the North Block, which houses the home ministry office, but was declared a hoax after nothing objectionable was found.
In the past few weeks, bomb threat emails have been received by many establishments in the national capital, including schools and hospitals.
Delhi's Chacha Nehru Hospital received a bomb threat on April 30 while more than 150 schools got threats from a Russia-based mailing service company on May 1.

Twenty hospitals, the IGI Airport and the Northern Railways' CPRO office in Delhi received bomb threats through emails from a Cyprus-based mailing service company on May 12.
Seven Delhi hospitals and the Tihar Jail received bomb threats from the same Cyprus-based mailing service company on May 14.
The Delhi Police is conducting investigations into the email bomb threats.
