EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (PIX11) — The Queen has arrived — and no, we’re not talking royalty from overseas.
Beyoncé is in town, bringing her Cowboy Carter Tour to MetLife Stadium, and the Beyhive is buzzing.
The Beyhive showed up and showed out as Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter Tour kicked off night one in the tristate area. Just next door at the American Dream Mall, the pre-show scene was buzzing with cowboy couture and high energy, as a DJ set the tone for the night ahead. Among the crowd was Felicia Brockett, celebrating her birthday in style with her daughters before heading to the concert.
“I love how she’s introducing her daughter Blue, and to pass the legacy down, and she’s beautiful,” Brockett said.
At Marcus Live Bar & Grille, themed bites like the This Ain’t Texas burger, named after Beyoncé’s hit song from the Cowboy Carter album, gave fans a taste of Southern flair with a local twist.
With the rain coming down throughout the night, concertgoers like Tyson Sanders did not let the weather rain on his Beyoncé parade.
“No matter rain, what’s going to happen,” he said. “Beyoncé, everyone on that tour is about to kill it!”
Hours earlier at Penn Station in Manhattan, PIX11 News caught up with eager fans heading to the big show. The concourse was filled with concertgoers in wide-brimmed hats, channeling full cowboy Carter energy. Fans said they were ready for a night with Queen Bey that they’ll never forget.
“It’s very cool ‘cause my name’s Ivy and her daughter is Blue Ivy and it’s my birthday, so I feel like it’s just meant to be, so we’re super excited,” said concertgoer Ivy Watkins.
“I think this is an album where she really sings and that’s her thing,” said concertgoer Jade Jones. “I’m from Texas so I appreciate the country element and I’m just excited to hear her voice.”
Beyoncé’s next show is Saturday, and she’ll be in town until May 29th.
