Berlin to Kasba: Films being screened at ongoing Habitat Film Festival

A wide variety of films are being showcased at the ongoing Indian Habitat Film Festival. From the festival darling 'Berlin' to the 1991 release, 'Kasba,' here is a quick glimpse at what you can expect.

The ongoing Habitat Film Festival is screening a wide variety of films, including Ishwak Singh-starrer Berlin, Marathi film Sthal and Kasba among others. While the festival itself will open with the Marathi film, Sthal (A Match), on May 3, Ishwak and Aparshakti Khurana movie Berlin will be screened on the opening night as well.

For the unversed, Sthal won the prestigious NETPAC Award at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival. It has been helmed by Jayant Somalkar and tackles the subject of matchmaking.

Apart from the feature films, the festival will also premiere a total of 10 documentaries. The docs will be screened every day at 11 am at Stein Auditorium, IHC. The list of the documentaries includes the Sundance-winning documentary, Against the Tide, helmed by Sarvnik Kaur. It will premiere on May 4.

The festival will also showcase selected works of filmmaker Kumar Shahani (1940-2024), including names such as ‘Char Adhyay’ (1997), ‘Kasba’ (1991), and ‘Maya Darpan (1972).

The festival will conclude on May 12.
