Bengaluru Police arrests three for pro-Pakistan slogans in Karnataka assembly

NEW DELHI: Three persons have been arrested by the

Bengaluru Police

for allegedly raising 'pro-Pakistan' slogans in

Karnataka Vidhana Soudha

. The individuals, identified as

Mohammad Shafi

from Haveri, Munavar from Bengaluru, and Iltyaz from Delhi, were taken into custody on Monday.
This incident follows recent allegations made by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that supporters of

Congress

leader Dr Syed Naseer Hussain had raised 'pro-Pakistan' slogans in the

Karnataka assembly

after his victory in the Rajya Sabha elections.

On February 28, Union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar shared a post on social media claiming that "Pakistan Zindabad" slogans were raised in the Karnataka state assembly following Hussain's re-election.
In response, the BJP Karnataka has stated that a scientific report from Clue4 Evidence Forensic Investigations Private Limited, a private laboratory, reveals that the Congress party is responsible for spreading false news and lies. "The man who started shouting "Pakistan Zindabad" in Vidhana Soudha has now been published in the FSL report. Karnataka Congress and the head of the fake news factory, Priyanka Kharge, should now accept his treasonous act and prostrate before the Legislative Assembly and seek forgiveness from the people," the BIP said.

According to the report cited by the BJP, the analysis indicates a high probability that the slogan shouted was "Pakistan Zindabad" rather than "Nasir Saab Zindabad".
Union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar has also linked the recent blast at Bengaluru's Rameshwaram Cafe to the alleged

pro-Pakistan slogans

raised by Congress MP Naseer Hussain's supporters at the Karnataka Vidhana Soudha. "You saw what happened in Bengaluru yesterday, a bomb explosion took place and Congress leaders said it was a cylinder blast. We want police to investigate whether Pakistan Zindabad slogans and this blast have any relation or not."

Chief minister

Siddaramaiah

has confirmed that voice samples have been sent to the FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) for analysis, and if it is proven that someone indeed raised the slogan "Pakistan Zindabad", they will face serious consequences. "We have sent the voice report to the FSL...if it is true that somebody has raised the slogan 'Pakistan Zindabad', that person will be punished seriously," he said.
State home minister G Parmeshwara has assured that the government is not withholding the report and will take immediate action once the FSL report is received. "We are not hiding the report. As soon as we get the FSL report, we will catch the person if he has shouted slogans. We will not spare him, whoever he is" the state Home Minister said on Sunday.
