High-scoring IPL

IPL 2024 was full of runs as all 10 teams enjoyed batting. Records tumbled throughout the tournament as the pitches turned out to be absolute belters. SRH, who missed out on winning the title, set the record for the highest team score of 287 for 3 in the IPL when they faced Faf du Plessis’ RCB last month at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Prior to that, they also racked up a massive score of 277 for 3 against MI in Hyderabad. PBKS could not make their way through to the playoffs, but they set the record for the highest successful run-chase in IPL history. They tracked down 262 against the Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

As many as 1260 sixes were hit in the tournament, the most in a single season in the history of the IPL. Twice did DC’s Jake Fraser-McGurk score half-centuries off 15 balls. Bowlers also had their fair share of joys after the likes of Sunil Narine and Jasprit Bumrah bowled with immaculate accuracy.
