Anti-corruption team arrests inspector for accepting bribe

BAREILLY: A team from the anti-corruption bureau on Tuesday

arrested

an inspector for allegedly

accepting a bribe

of Rs 50,000.
The accused, Simranjeet Kaur, was posted at Islamnagar police station in Budaun district and was investigating a rape case.
CO Yashpal Singh said, “To put pressure on the verdict in a rape case, wife of the accused filed a report against the victim under sections of extortion and IT Act.

During the investigation, no evidence was found against the woman. On this, Kaur started demanding more money from the victim to lodge an

FIR

in the matter. On this, the victim complained to the anti-corruption bureau.”
Kaur was arrested after getting caught for taking a bribe of Rs 50,000. This complaint activated the

anti-corruption team

which prepared an outline to trap her and she was caught with a bribe of Rs 50,000, after which the anti-corruption team sent her to Binawal police station at Bareilly-Budaun border where she was arrested. The inspector will be presented in court.
