ROCKVILLE CENTER, N.Y. (PIX11)— Just in time for New Year’s Eve, when the bars will be full, a new app wants to make nightlife safer.

Angel Shot is a new app that promotes safety for everyone – especially women.

The new app allows patrons who feel uncomfortable or fearful at a bar to use the app and contact a bartender and ask for an “Angel Shot.” This is one of many codes that signal help is needed.

“Safety is at the heart of everything we do, said James LaSalle, President of Angel Shot, LLC. “Our app provides a simple yet powerful tool to ensure that everyone can enjoy their time out without compromising their well-being.”

The app developers say using it is more discreet than requesting an angel shot out loud from a bartender who may not hear the request or realize there is a problem.
The app is available on Apple’s app store and Google Play. For more information, click here.
