Fans of the thrilling zombie apocalypse series, ‘All of Us Are Dead’, have reason to rejoice as the

renewal

of the show for a second season has officially been confirmed. The renewal guarantees the return of the students from Hyosan High School, along with the revival of several other beloved characters from the previous installment.
Despite the harrowing events of the first season, which saw the demise of numerous characters, a number of key

cast

members are expected to reprise their roles in the upcoming chapter.

Among them are Cho Yi-hyun as Nam-ra, Park Ji-hu as On-jo, Im Jae-hyuk as Dae-su, Park Solomon as Su-hyeok, Ha Seung-ri as Ha-ri, Bo-yoon as Hyo-ryung, and Lee Eun-saem as Mi-jin. During the first season, Yoon Chan-young, portraying Cheong-san, also teased viewers with subtle clues suggesting a potential return.
As for the

plot

of the forthcoming sequel, details remain scarce. The aftermath of the Hyosan explosion in the previous season left the surviving students grappling with the challenges of survival in a world overrun by zombies. Director Lee Jae-kyoo, in an interview with The Korea Herald, hinted at deliberately leaving room for a continuation, with various plot points and sequences intentionally crafted to pave the way for season 2. Furthermore, the introduction of new zombie races suggests a deeper exploration of the undead phenomenon in the upcoming season.
In April 2024, Netflix Korea teased fans with an image and video preview of season 2 on their Instagram page, captioning, "Can we survive again? The second chapter of the hard zombie survival era of Hyosan High School buddies begins". Director Lee hinted at a shift in focus towards the struggle for zombie survival in the upcoming season.

In a recent interview with The Chosun Daily, Director Lee provided further insight into the production timeline and setting for season 2. Pre-production is underway, with filming set to begin in the latter half of 2024, aiming for a release in the second half of the following year. As quoted by The Chosun Daily, "We're in the pre-production stage right now", Director Lee affirmed. "The casting is complete. I'm looking forward to the ensemble of the original protagonists and the new ones joining. All I can say is that both the kids from Season 1 and the scale have grown", he further added.

Continuing with the details, he elaborated, "Filming will start in the latter half of this year, in the third or fourth quarter, and it's scheduled to be released in the second half of next year. The season will feature more powerful and evolved zombies, with the fallen city of Seoul as the main setting".
