AJAI embarks on Bharat Drive with Mahindra Scorpio-N, JK Tyres: Details

Mahindra & Mahindra today announced the ‘Bharat Drive’ - an initiative by the

Automotive Journalists Association of India

(

AJAI

). The

Bharat Drive

is supported by Mahindra and JK Tyres. The drive will focus on the narrative along India’s roads of progress, amidst the backdrop of the nation’s democratic process, while celebrating the significant infrastructural developments in the country.

Bharat Drive was kicked off with a ceremonial flag-off at Mahindra’s manufacturing facility in

Kandivali

, Mumbai. The event was attended by founders and key members of AJAI alongside editors from twelve leading automotive publications. Our editor,

is also part of the drive and will be showcasing the Bhadla Solar Park, which is the world’s largest solar park.

This unique drive will showcase remarkable landmarks of national pride and infrastructural advancement. It will span from India's inaugural expressway connecting Ahmedabad and Vadodara to the monumental

Samruddhi Mahamarg

. Additionally, it will also feature the world's largest solar project at Bhadla and the extraordinary Sela Tunnel, perched at 13,000 feet above sea level.

The Scorpio-N is offered with two engine options - a 2.0-litre, turbocharged petrol with 203 hp of power and 370Nm and 380Nm in the manual and automatic variants, respectively. Another engine is the 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine which puts out 175hp and 370Nm (manual)/400Nm (automatic). Both engines come paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The diesel version additionally is offered with a 4x4.

The one being used for the Bharat drive is the 2.2-litre turbo diesel with 4x4. The SUV gets low-range mode with four terrain modes – Normal, Grass/Gravel/ Snow, Mud/Rut, and Sand. It also gets it gets mechanical locking rear differential, ESP-based brake locking front differential.
In terms of features, the SUV gets an 8.0-inch touch-screen with AdrenoX infotainment system, semi-digital cluster, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, wireless charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 12-speaker 3D Sony sound system and more. Safety features include six airbags, ESP, traction control system, hill-hold control, hill-descent control, TPMs and more.
