pubs

and bars across the state within a fortnight.
A series of stringent steps is being taken by the department following the

May 19 Porsche crash

. The accident occurred when the allegedly drunk 17-year-old son of a builder crashed his high-end car into a bike and killed two youngsters in

Kalyaninagar

, after being served alcohol in two pubs.

In the aftermath, excise officials have cracked down on drunk-driving and serving of liquor to minors.
