On May 30, Anjali shared a clip from the pre-release event of ‘Gangs of Godavari’ in which she can be seen having a good time with Nandamuri Balakrishna and expressed her gratitude towards him for attending the event. Her caption reads, “I want to thank Balakrishna Garu for gracing the Gangs of Godavari pre-release event with his presence. I would like to express that Balakrishna Garu and I have always maintained
mutual respect
for each other and we have shared a great friendship for a long time. It was wonderful to share the stage with him again.”

took to her Twitter handle to support Anjali and slammed people who criticized her for covering up the incident by laughing it off on stage.
Chinmayi stated that men in power and men with money and higher caste misbehave without guilt. She further added "not to come and tell women what to say and how to behave when you have everything to gain and nothing to lose."
