. However, recent developments shed light on the resolution of his legal saga.
In a recent session at the

Seoul Western District Court

's 2-2 Criminal Division, Eru donned a somber black coat and mask, awaited the court's verdict with bated breath. The charges against him were serious, including aiding and abetting drunk driving, among others.
The courtroom atmosphere crackled with tension as the ruling was delivered. In its ruling, the court stated, "The defendant has been sentenced to probation for charges related to aiding and abetting the escape of a criminal, drunk driving, and assisting a criminal," and further noted, "The defendant did not appeal the original verdict, and the prosecution appealed on the grounds of perceived leniency in sentencing." The court rejected the prosecution's appeal, stating, "The defendant acknowledges his wrongdoing, and there have been no alterations from the initial trial. We find the original sentencing appropriate and reject the prosecution's appeal."
Eru's legal woes began in September 2022 when he was apprehended for driving under the influence after a night of revelry at a Seoul restaurant. What followed were further complications, including attempts to shift blame onto a professional golfer and subsequent incidents of reckless driving.

In December 2022, Eru found himself confronting further charges for enabling drunk driving by permitting an intoxicated acquaintance to operate and park his vehicle. Concurrently, he was implicated in an accident, colliding with a road guardrail while driving at a speed surpassing 180 km/h. At the time of the incident, his blood alcohol content measured 0.075%, exceeding the legal driving limit.
Initially, Eru received a sentence of six months imprisonment and one year of probation, prompting the prosecution to file an appeal.

In the appeal, the prosecution pressed for a tougher sentence, highlighting Eru's role in assisting a criminal escape and his multiple instances of drunk driving. They pushed for a one-year imprisonment and a fine of 100,000 won.
In response, Eru's lawyer highlighted mitigating factors, including his remorse for the offenses and his devoted care for his mother, who has been suffering from severe dementia for five years.
In his closing statement, Eru expressed regret for his actions, vowing not to repeat his mistakes in the future.
In the initial trial, the court considered Eru's remorse and lack of prior criminal record, sentencing him to six months in prison, one year of probation, and a fine of 10,000 won.
Following the court's decision, Eru issued an apology, expressing regret for the distress caused by his actions and pledging to live in reflection. He particularly emphasized the need to care for his mother amidst her health struggles.
In response, Eru's attorney emphasized mitigating circumstances, such as his regret for the crimes committed and his dedicated caretaking for his mother, who has been afflicted with severe dementia for the past five years.
In his concluding remarks, Eru expressed remorse for his actions and pledged to learn from his mistakes, committing to not repeating them in the future.
During the trial's outset, Eru's expressions of remorse and clean record were taken into account. Consequently, the court sentenced him to six months of imprisonment, and one year of probation, and imposed a fine of 10,000 won.
After the court's ruling, Eru issued an apology, expressing remorse for the distress his actions had caused and vowing to engage in self-reflection. He stressed the importance of providing care for his mother during her health challenges.
