52 aftershocks recorded in New Jersey following 4.8 magnitude earthquake

NEW JERSEY (PIX11) -- Fifty-two aftershocks have rattled our area since a 4.8 magnitude earthquake hit the tri-state area last Friday.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the most recent tremor was just before 3 p.m. Thursday, when a 1.7 quake hit near Califon.

The agency is tracking the aftershocks, which have ranged from 1.3 to 3.8.

Officials said the latest tremors are not predictive of future quakes and no injuries or damages have been linked to the aftershocks.
