Kia
India today announced the launch of two new
automatic variants
of the
Seltos
SUV. The new Seltos HTK+
petrol-CVT
is priced at Rs 15.40 lakh and the Seltos HTK+
diesel-AT
is priced at Rs 16.90 lakh (both prices ex-showroom). The company has also updated the other existing trims with additional
features
. Previously, the CVT gearbox in the petrol and the torque converter AT in diesel were far available from the HTX trim.
Newly introduced HTK+ trims bring down the entry price by Rs 1.18 lakh and Rs 1.28 lakh for the diesel-AT.
Along with the introduction of an automatic gearbox to the HTK Plus trim, Kia has also added a few features. It now gets a
panoramic sunroof
, drive and traction modes, paddle shifters, LED-connected tail lamps, LED front map lamps interior LED reading lamps and a leatherette-wrapped steering wheel. It also gets a new exterior paint option - Aurora Black Pearl.
As mentioned previously, the company has also updated other existing trims with new features. HTX, HTX+, GT Line and X Line trims now get an auto up/down function for all four windows. HTK trim now gets LED DRLs, keyless entry, push-button start/stop remote engine start/stop, and LED-connected tail lamps. The base HTE trim is now offered with five additional exterior colour options - Aurora Black Pearl, Gravity Grey, Intense Red, Pewter Olive and Imperial Blue.

Talking about the powertrain, the Seltos is offered in three engine options - 115 hp, 144 nm 1.5-litre NA petrol engine, 160 hp, 253 nm 1.5-litre turbo petrol and a 116 hp, 250 nm turbo diesel engine. The prices for the

now range between Rs 10.90 lakh to Rs 20.35 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV competes with Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, Honda Elevate, and Toyota Hyryder in the Indian market.
