NEW YORK (PIX11) --- Two men are accused of violently attacking MTA employees in separate incidents in Manhattan last month, including one who allegedly fractured a transit worker's eye socket, authorities said Thursday.

Rashon Eagle, 43, and Abdellahi Mohammed, 25, were indicted on assault charges stemming from the incidents in February, prosecutors said.

“MTA workers and passengers should not have to fear for their safety when on our buses and subways, and those who jeopardize their safety will be held accountable," Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said.

Eagle allegedly threatened to stab the driver aboard the M15 bus at the South Ferry Whitehall Terminal at around 12:05 p.m. on Feb. 10, prosecutors said. Eagle swung at the driver who tackled him before the two started brawling on the bus floor, authorities said.

During the fight, Eagle allegedly pulled a pocketknife and tried to stab the driver but the MTA worker was able to wrestle it away from him, according to court records. The victim was taken to the hospital with scratches on his face, hands, and eyes, which caused some blurred vision.

Four days after the bus attack, Mohammed punched an MTA worker in the face on the platform of the southbound Nos. 4 and 5 lines in the Wall Street subway station at 5:50 a.m., authorities said. Mohammed allegedly attacked the woman when she saw him lying under a bench, breaking her eyesocket, according to court documents.

Mohammed is also accused of punching and fracturing a good Samaritan's nose when he tried to help the worker, prosecutors said.

The defendants pleaded not guilty during their arraignments Thursday, according to court records. Eagle was released after posting bail, court records show.
