2 killed as sports car rams bike-borne couple in Pune

A couple riding a two-wheeler were killed in Koregaon Park when a speeding sports car hit them on Saturday.

The woman, Ashwini Costa, died on the spot, while her partner, Anis Dudhiya, died during treatment. The accident occurred when a Porsche, driven by Agarwal, rammed their bike. The accused in the negligent driving case, Agarwal, is a renowned builder in the city.

The police have registered a case against Agarwal at the Yerwada Police Station. A case has been registered under Section 306 (Abetment of suicide), Section 279 (rash driving on public way), Section 304(a) (Causing death by negligence), Section 337 (Causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), Section 427 (Commits mischief) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Earlier on Saturday, a hoarding collapsed in Pune due to gusty winds, leaving a trail of destruction. A horse was injured in the incident while some vehicles were damaged.
