NAVI MUMBAI: The Raigad crime branch and

Karjat police

have arrested two accused for the

murder

of a 27-year-old youth, who worked as a catering staff. The murder case was registered at Karjat police station after the murder victim's body with his throat slit and his limbs tied with a T-shirt was found in the bushes in the forest area along Karjat-Murbad road on February 29 around 7 am.

Surendra Garad, senior inspector of Karjat police station said, "The arrested accused are

Dilip

Dhansani (35), residing at a labour camp in Matunga and

Vijay

Waghri (38) residing in the slums near Panvel railway station. On February 29, we received information by one Mahadev Mhase (42), a resident of

Naldhe village

that he has spotted a man with his limbs tied up and his throat slit and dumped in the forest area on the isolated road near Abasa farmhouse at Kashele village. The murder victim's photograph was circulated among the informers and his identity was confirmed as Suraj (full name not known) who resided in Panvel and worked as catering staff for several hotels. It was learnt that he had worked in Assam, Mizoram and Sikkim and had come to Panvel from Nepal for working as catering staff."
Inspector Garad said, "The T-shirt used for tying hands of victim Suraj had a print of Mount View Resort which gave us a vital lead. We inquired at the resort and learnt that they provide T-shirts to labour contractors for providing catering staff. We zeroed-in on a labour contractor Dilip Dhansani from Panvel who was detained as a suspect. When grilled, he confessed that he along with his aide Vijay Waghri had killed Suraj by claiming that Suraj was causing him business loss by telling other labourers not to work for him. Dhansani confessed that he and Waghri gave liquor party to Suraj in Panvel and then took him in an auto rickshaw to Karjat where they tied his hands with a T-shirt and slit his throat with a sharp weapon. Then, dumped his body in the bushes and returned to Panvel."
