NOIDA: To ensure a high

voter turnout

,

polling booths

will come up in 101

housing societies

in Noida. While the city will have 52 booths in 34 societies, Dadri will have 49 booths across 33 condominiums. Societies such as Elite Greens, Arun Vihar, and Antriksh Golf 1 and 2 are some of them.
Residents of the

high rises

have welcomed the move, anticipating it will encourage more people to participate in the electoral process.

“Unlike many districts, a substantial number of polling booths will be set up within high rises. Even Ghaziabad falls short in comparison. The booths will be arranged inside society clubhouses and will help us decide whether this needs to be continued in the future,” said DM Manish Verma.
According to officials, the Election Commission of India (ECI) instructed chief electoral officers to identify polling booths in housing societies to ensure 100% voter turnout. “This move will reduce the distance between residents and polling booths, enabling more voter turnout. Large societies even have cart services to make commuting more convenient for residents. So operationally also it becomes easier for completing the voting process,” said Rajiva Singh, President, NOFAA.

“As a homemaker and a mother, the thought of leaving my child at home and traveling to a distant polling station on voting day always posed a significant challenge. However, having polling booths in our society brings relief. It instills a sense of empowerment and convenience,” said Anjula, a homemaker and resident of Noida.
